Awards and Requirements
The Amy
Stump Award
–The student must have a 3.5 GPA and a declared
major in Anthropology, Child Development, Geography, Psychology,
or Sociology; have completed 45 units, including 12 units of
Behavioral Science at Fullerton College in Anthropology, and/or
Psychology, and/or Sociology. In addition, student must enroll
in an accredited four-year university or college within three
semesters after receiving the award.
The
Arnold Le Ross Award
– The
student must have a 3.5 GPA and be a Social Science major,
have completed 45 units, with at least 12 units at Fullerton
College in the following courses: Child Development, Economics,
Ethnic Studies, History, Political Science, Philosophy, or
Religious Studies. Six of the 12 units must be from Economics
and/or History and/or Political Science. Student must enroll in
an accredited four-year university or college within three
semesters after receiving the award.
The
Brannock Family Scholarship
– The student must be a declared Psychology major with a minimum
GPA of 3.5, and transferring to either a 4-year college or
university by the following fall semester. The recipient will
be selected by Professor Brannock, a selectee, or a member of
her immediate family.
The Bill
and Nancy Sullivan International Studies Scholarship –
The student must have a 3.25 GPA and be a major
in the Social
Sciences and either graduating or transferring to a
four-year institution. The student must have demonstrated
interest in global or international studies. Dr. Anne Negus
will select the recipient.
The Del Alcorn / Robert Owen Memorial
Scholarship -
To qualify for this
scholarship, students must be enrolled full-time at Fullerton
College, have a
minimum 3.0 GPA, be a declared major in Sociology or
Anthropology, have successfully completed Sociology 101 (Soc
Majors) or have successfully completed Anthropology 101 and/or
102 (Anthro Majors), and demonstrate leadership and service to
the community. A one-page essay must accompany the application
describing the student's interest in their field, educational
goals, and specific career goals. The selection committee will
be comprised of faculty members from the Sociology &
Anthropology Departments.
Nettleship Family
Scholarship – The scholarship will
be awarded to one student in any field at
Fullerton College who has continued his or her
college education despite facing severe obstacles. The student
must be in his or her fourth semester with a minimum grade point
average of 3.00, and be on the point of transferring to a four
year academic institution. The student must submit an essay
describing his or her adversity and goals, a transcript of
grades and a teacher recommendation. Before the award can be
made the student must show proof of enrollment at a four year
institution.
The
Nettleship family will select the recipient.
The Dorothy & Dan Sailor
Child Development Scholarship -
The
student must be a Child Development major and have a
minimum GPA of 3.0 overall. The student must have a minimum 3.5
GPA in child development courses. This scholarship is for
students planning a career working with children. The recipient
is selected by the Child Development Department and Dorothy
Sailor.
The Tom
Cantrell Memorial Scholarship
– The
student must have a 2.0 GPA or higher and be a Child
Development major, have completed at least 12 units, and
persevered in spite of adversity and challenges.
Family
Science Award
– The student must have a 3.0 GPA, be a Family Studies major, be
currently enrolled in 6 units, and have completed 40 units at
Fullerton College, with at least 12 units in Social Sciences
courses. The student must be both recommended by an instructor
and interviewed by the Scholarship Committee.
Martin
and Lotte Hebeling Award
– The student must have a 3.5 GPA, have completed 12 units in
Social Sciences courses, be receiving an A. A. degree from
Fullerton College or be transferring to a four-year university
or college. The student must demonstrate leadership or personal
example at improving or facilitating inter-ethnic, inter-racial,
international or multi-cultural human relations.
History
Scholarship
– The
student must have a declared major in History, a
cumulative 3.0 GPA with a 3.5 GPA in History classes. At the
time of the award, the student must be attending at least
three-quarter time (however, full-time is preferable),
transferring to a four-year university or college, display
superior academic promise in the field of History, and intend to
enter the teaching profession. The History Department faculty
will determine the recipient.
The
William Klaustermeyer Memorial Award
– The
recipient will be determined by the Social Science Division.
The Barbara Weightman Geography Scholarship. –
Student must be majoring in Geography and taking nine units or
more, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Student can be continuing,
graduating, or transferring. Selection will be made by the
Fullerton College Geography Dept.
The Donna
Logan Teaching Scholarship -
To
receive the Donna Logan Teaching Scholarship, a student must
have a minimum 3.0 GPA and must be pursuing a career in
teaching. Applicants must submit a one-page written essay
describing his/her reason for selecting teaching as a career
AND how they’ve helped and shown compassion to others in the
past AND their desire to impact the lives of youth through
teaching. The selection of the recipient will be made
by the family of Donna Logan and special consideration will be
given for those pursuing a career in elementary teaching.
Eugene
and Donna McKibbin Award
– The
student must have completed 30 units, including 15 units at
Fullerton College, and including 3 units of Economics. Student
should possess good citizenship and intend to major in
Economics. The recipient will be determined by the Coordinator
(Chair) of the Economics Department in consultation with the
Social Science Division Scholarship Committee.
The
Francis Mummery Economics Award
– The student must have a declared major in Economics or
Business. Professor Mummery will select the recipient.
The Perry
Jacobson Jr. Sociology Scholarship Award
-
The student must be a declared
Sociology major and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Professor Kelly Nelson-Wright will select the recipient.
The
Philosophy & Religious Studies Scholarship -
The
student must be a Philosophy and/or Religious Studies major and
have a 3.5 GPA with a minimum of 12 units of philosophy and/or
religious studies classes at Fullerton College.
The
Political Science Scholarship
– The student must be a declared political science major
with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Political Science Department
will determine the recipient.
The
Psychology Faculty Student Achievement Award
– The
student must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0, completed 9
units of psychology classes at Fullerton College, and a minimum
GPA in psychology courses of 3.5 or higher. Applicants must
submit a two-page (double-spaced) essay describing why they
selected a major in psychology, their educational goals, and
specific career goals.
The Sylvia Mendez Scholarship
– The student must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must
submit an additional one-page essay describing their desire to
work for civil rights or social justice issues in their career.
Sylvia Mendez will chose the recipient.

MyGateway. Follow the login instructions
(user ID and password are explained).
3. Log into WebStar.
4. Select Student
Records under Student Services & Financial Aid
5. Click on
Academic Transcript
6. Click on
Display Transcript
7. When the
transcripts are displayed, click Print on the
top toolbar on the monitor screen. (Be sure all
pages are printed before logging off.)
